VAYU MUDRA YOGA

Vayu Mudra is a Sanskrit language word. In which Vayu represents air and Mudra represents gesture. According to Ayurveda, it is said that our index finger is for air element & our thumb is for fire element.

Ancient yogis perform this Vayu Mudra as a remedy for air related problems like gastric, gout, Parkinson’s disease, etc.

Vayu Mudra is a simple yoga that anybody can do just by using their hands.

HOW DO YOU PRACTICE VAYU MUDRA?

Vayu Mudra is one of the easiest mudras that anyone can do easily. If you do it regularly, you get unbelievable benefits & your life becomes happy and joyful.

Find an open(garden or terrace) and comfortable place to perform this mudra. In short, find a place where there is no noise and disturbance. Silence plays an important role while performing Mudras and meditation.

Now, you have to bring your body into a posture such as meditation by folding your legs and keeping your back and head straight to perform Vayu Mudra Yoga. By performing Vayu Mudra in this position, you get lots of benefits. In this posture, you feel comfortable while doing Mudra.

Now take a deep breath and close your eyes slowly and focus on breathing. After that keep the index finger on the base of your thumb and try to press with the thumb, make sure to keep the other three fingers straight. So In this way, you can easily perform Vayu Mudra Yoga at home.

If you perform Vayu mudra daily then it prevents all the diseases that occur due to the imbalance of the air.

TIME DURATION FOR VAYU MUDRA

During initials, days try to perform Vayu Mudra for 5–10 minutes and then slowly increase your time duration. Doing Vayu Mudra for 45 minutes reduces the severity of the disease in 12–25 hours. If you want complete benefits of Vayu Mudra, practice it for two months.

Try to perform Vayu Mudra in relax mode & without any tension, to get a complete benefit.

BEST TIME TO DO MUDRAS OR MEDITATION

4 am or 5 am is the best time to do Mudras or meditation because at this time, there is no noise and any disturbance, so you can perform mudras or meditation with a happy and peaceful mind.

In cities, there is too much noise after 6 or 7 am so 4 or 5 am is the best time to perform mudras.

PRECAUTIONS

To get the complete benefits of Vayu Mudra, you have to follow the instruction given below.

  • Try to sit in proper posture. Keep your back straight.
  • Find an open place to perform Vayu Mudra.
  • Wear loose cloth instead of tight clothes.
  • Keep your phone or electronic items away while doing Vayu Mudra.
  • Focus on your breath & don’t overbend your index finger.
